DACA EMERGENCY FUND INITIATIVE
Our scholarship awardees are a very important asset to the economy and development of this country. For the past five years, many of our beneficiaries have been Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) recipients. In response to the Trump Administration announcement to rescind the DACA program within the next six months, The Anhelo Project has launched an Emergency Fund Initiative for those DACA recipients in need of renewing their status before the October 5, 2017 deadline. During these uncertain times, we stand with our students and their families to push forward for a resolution that will protect all immigrants through a permanent legislative solution.
Our DACA Emergency Fund Initiative will cover the Department of Homeland Security application filing fee of $495.00. For fullest consideration, recipients must meet the following criteria:
Must be enrolled within a college or university within the State of Illinois
Must be reapplying for DACA no later than the October 5, 2017 deadline
Need not be a past The Anhelo Project Dream Scholarship Recipient
Applicants must submit the following supporting documents in PDF format to firstname.lastname@example.org by September 22, 2017 at 5:00PM. You must provide the following:
Proof of DACA renewal request
A Letter of Hardship
Proof of Current College Enrollment
During these uncertain times, we stand with our students and their families to push forward for a resolution that will protect all immigrants through a permanent legislative solution. Our goal is to match up to $6,000.00 in donations; donations can be as little as a dollar! For any contribution you can give us, more than 1,000 followers on our website and other social media outlets will hear about your generosity and donors, like you! We greatly appreciate any financial support that you can give toward our fundraising efforts. To help us raise funds, donate below:

The Dream Gala
In the fall of 2009, The Dream Gala Committee was formed with student leaders, alumni and staff from various campus based organizations at the University of Illinois at Chicago to address the funding needs of undocumented students.
